Battle Sequence (I’m Atomic) is about running just ahead of a landslide. As with all of ‘Domestic Bliss’, ‘Battle Sequence’ is written from a character’s perspective. The lyrics in this one are ostensibly to do with mental health and a creeping kind of despair that the narrator is just keeping ahead of, primarily by talking themselves up in an inflated, compensatory way (I’m atomic as fuck / Holding my head as if holding my mind up)”
